POD FILTER

Well the first part or modifing Dabeast was to put a new air filter on it. I opted for a Formaz Performance K&N clone Pod filter, which flows enough air for about 500Hp.

POD FILTER part2

My Old Formaz Air Filter is gone the useless peice of junk. It was made with a paper element between the wire mesh. The only problem is when u wash it, it goes all mushy and desintergrates. Further more you can't change it as the thing is set together with ressin.
So off it came and on went the Cypher Industries POD Filter. It is an inhouse design baised on the HKS filter. It is good to flow upto 650Hp and can be cleaned my major concern. Its also made out of metal and not mesh so its stronger, its also looks kewler hehe a little rice doesn't hurt.

DUMP PIPE

When i got the DaBeast it had a 3" high flow sportz exhaust, with a single BeeR muffler and a 5" tip. To get better airflow through the engine and maximise the pod filter i got a 3" dump pipe (down pipe) installed from the turbo to the catalictic converter (cat). To finish off the breather modz to the DaBeast I replaced the cat with a 3" stainless steel, high flow sportz cat. With some cold air induction and heat sheilding the airflow modz to the car will be finished. Hopefully i will have this done soon.

GTR GRILL

The only other modz I've done so far is to add a GTR style grill. I got it from Fibre Vision for $120. I decided to paint it myself as it would of cost about $80-$100 for it to be painted at a panelbeaters. It went to Marlows and brought the paint and went home to paint my grill. I sanded the grill back and painted it. HeHe well that was the first go, it lasted acouple days before getting a chip in it. Argggh!! all that work and for nothing as i was about to find out!. While i was checking the chip i found that i could just peel the paint off as if it were dead skin :(. So I had to rub it back again, this time I used a caurser grade sandpaper and took all the paint off. I decided this time after some advice from Dad to put a primer on it. After it dried I painted it again and this time added a few coats of clear finish, like a lacker which helps protect the surface. I painted the mest Gold as it stands out better against the colour of my car.

DABEAST GETS A FACELIFT.

I decided Dabeast needed a facelift so away went the stock front bar and rear wing. I replaced them with a Bomex front bar fully meshed, factory GTR skirts and GTST rear pods and a custom drift wing by Sillins Racing in South Australia. After a slight piant mix up cost an extra $500 but it looks great now.
